What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I reply back to the potential client and ask for a good time and day to set up a phone conversation. During the phone conversation I setup a free initial consultation. Basically this lets us get to know each other and decide if we want to work together in the future.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
AFAA, PN1 Nutrition coach, PPSC, NFPT MS Specialist Barbell Rehab certification.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started working out when I was 17. I was very small and had very bad self esteem at that age. Around the same time I began taking traditional martial arts, it was Taekwondo at the time. I did that for many years and decided I needed to cross-train because MMA had exploded onto the scene. I got into boxing and then jiu jitsu. I was teaching boxing at a local academy and was a jiu jitsu instructor at a mixed martial arts academy. I am also well versed in functional strength training, and bodybuilding methods. What really got me into wanting to do this was the feeling of seeing a person feel better about themselves, to go from walking with their head always hung low to looking confident with their shoulders pulled back. There's been many times that someone has come to me years later and told me what a difference I made in their life. That's how I realized that this is my true passion and my purpose in life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with many different kinds of customers, from customers that are overweight to customers that are looking to put on muscle and size. I have also worked with customers that are looking to learn self-defense for themselves and their loved ones.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would look for a trainer that has actual experience in working with clients. One that is positive in every aspect of his or her life. One that takes time to teach and is concerned about your well-being. A good trainer has passion that you can feel. The trainer should also be well versed in working with clients to help them achieve mental fitness. The mental side is often overlooked. Helping develop a strong mindset is key to putting all the pieces together and achieving long term results.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I think the number one question clients should think through before contacting a professional is, "Are they really ready for change"? as a trainer I have come to know that you cannot convince somebody they need to change. That is something they need to realize and make a decision about themselves.
